Fortnite Pro Arkhram retires to pursue Valorant Competitive instead

Professional Fortnite player Diego “Arkhram” Lima has resigned from Epic Games’ popular battle royale to pursue competitive Valorant.

On August 17, 2022, professional Fortnite player Diego “Arkhram” Lima announced his retirement from Epic Games’ hit Fortnite battle royale; as a result, the old The 100 Thieves player has revealed his desire to continue competing in Valorant instead.

Arkhram’s retirement from Fortnite came via a Twitlonger, detailing his departure and journey through Fortnite esports. In his statement, Arkhram thanked his followers, friends and 100 Thieves for their unwavering support over the years.

Additionally, Arkhram said he would “pursue Valorant” and “find a new passion”; continue to improve at the game and eventually play professionally.

As one of Fortnite’s most prominent professional players in recent years, Arkhram’s decision comes after realizing how “uncompetitive” the scene has become. The former Fortnite player thanked Epic Games for making his “dream” of being an esports athlete come true.

Upon his departure, a new door opens for Arkhram as he ventures into the competitive Valorant scene. The professional gamer said he had been playing the game for “months” and found his new “passion” in it. Additionally, he would like to keep playing to be the “best” and eventually “compete among the best”.

Arkhram said he has no plans to return to Fortnite after the years of competitive play he has spent on the stage and the title. Instead, he plans to pursue Valorant wholeheartedly and give his all in the process.

The former Fortnite player concluded by thanking his community for following him throughout his career while playing Fortnite. Afterwards, Arkhram also expressed his gratitude to his friends and 100 Thieves for “making the past few years unforgettable” and supporting him since the Fortnite World Cup in 2019.

In response to the pro gamer’s Tweet, 100 Thieves co-owner and Twitch icon Jack “CouRageJD” Dunlop fired Arkhram with good luck. He commented, “what a legendary Fortnite career. Good luck in the future.”

As Arkhram continues to cultivate his talent within Valorant, it won’t be long before fans see him compete in tournaments. We can’t wait to see him continue to grow in the competitive Valorant scene.
